Fantastic bed n breakfast located in the historic district of Augusta Ga. Just a block away from Woodrow Wilsons childhood home. Enjoyed the River walk and memorial and loved the Morris museum of art. The bed n breakfast is a Queene Anne Style home with beautiful simply beautiful wooden stair case. Each bedroom has its own unique charm. Val the owner was pleasant and we had time to ourselves to enjoy the house. Great local food. Plan to return. Outstanding. There is a local college. Rooms: We had our choice of rooms. I choose a down stairs room that has a fire place large comfortable king size canopy bed tv bath with tub and a sofa. Nice windows. Theres a living r room also and community kitchen upstairs. The kitchen is yellow and we saw golden eagles outside. There is a big porch out front . Pleasant. House reminds me of home in movie the two worlds if Jenny Logan staring Lindsay Wagner. It looks like the house on the opening of the movie. Loved this vacation. Nearby activities: Morris museum of art. Victorian style paintings, nice large horse portraits some modern. Some sculpture loved it. Safety: You get your own key to the house and your room. You pull up curb side and she greets you. Outside in the back theres private parking the streets are on blvd and I saw local law enforcement. But I felt safe within the city. Local cafe and people outside. I felt safe to sit outside on the porch and simply enjoy myself. We went on the river walk and local art museum. I wanted to view the Wilson home but it was a holiday so I did the virtual tour. . Walkability: Definitely a walkable town. Plenty of dude walks but we also used our car because we wanted to go several blocks. You probably could bring a bike. The river walk was nice I recommend morning not hot day time. Morning the otters are out. Food & drinks: We are at Edgars which is run by the founder of Goodwill. The meal was fabulous. The steak huge and my shrimp was delicious. We had two waiter/ waitress who helped one another. They have a lovely rose garden outside so if weather permits be sure to request the patio. The inside was nice modern also. We also ate at Nacho mamas. It is a taco restaurant with self yourself style but efficient. Tall bar stool chairs College style restaurant. Younger crowd. Large serving . Noteworthy details: The historic value of the town was outstanding. The house itself is amazing though much of its history has been lost the features of the house speak for itself. Very well maintained.
