GI Care for Kids

This place is horrible. They are still requiring mask. When I asked why this was still required they said because doctor said so and there was no exception. He also said that although the mask patients are given dont stop the spread of Covid, the mask the doctor had does. To which I replied then why is he worried about me wearing a mask if his would stop the spread? He didnt have a response. I also asked him to look at current research by doctors that has proven mask are ineffective. Also note its proven it came from a very secure lab is Wuhan and they had many more safeguards then mask and it still leaked. They also asked what my daughters pronoun was. They were very rude and unwelcoming. I will never be back.

Update to review. I called the office Tuesday for a question I had about my son regarding his treatment. Today is Thursday. Still have not gotten any direction for it, or a good answer. Already unhappy and have not been to the office yet. the two stars are for the extremely rude and unprofessional ladies on the phone i talked to today. Back story: I had made one appointment, rescheduled it (way in advance of the appointment) and then had to cancel that one because we had covid. I then rescheduled, and did one no show. I admit, this was rude on my part, but I did forget to call and cancel. Flash forward to yesterday, and I took my son to the ER . He was admitted for severe constipation. The GI Drs we saw at the hospital were from GI KIDS. They were wonderful. One of them called for GI kids to have them call me to make my son an appointment today, as he needs extensive monitoring and follow up. GI Kids called and left a message to make an appointment. I called back an hour later. I was then told, I was locked from their system for 3 no call no shows, and that there was no way my son was getting an appointment. I explained to the woman on the phone about being in the hospital and seeing a provider from GI Kids. The lady on the phone said she would get her supervisor. The supervisor was extremely rude, and told me I would never get an appointment. I told her I was getting one of their drs to speak with her , and she told me I dont care, and hung up on me. Once again, the drs I saw were great. The phone staff needs reported to the medical board and fired

Dr. Garza is supposed to be the best, but he doesn't think for himself. The team does it for him, and he accepts all the props. He tells me he can't put my son on a certain medicine while in his care, but my son gets admitted to the hospital and they place him on the same medicine the doctor says he can't use.

We drive my 18yr old, 1hr drive to get here, Sometimes Multiple times a Month, Sometimes once a Month for almost 1yr now and it's so worth it compared to the care they were getting locally! We thank Dr. Shakir and STAFF AND.. The whole CREW over at Children's Hospital, Scottish Rite Atlanta Ga.
