        I am very sorry to hear of the previous reviewer's experience, but mine over 10 years has been nothing but amazingly positive. Dr. Marcus takes lots of time to answer questions and has researched issues for both me and my daughter, who is not his patient, after I left his office. Every time he has gotten back to me promptly and thoroughly on every issue and on all test results, far faster than any of the other doctors my family sees. If you are looking for a PCP, I would run not walk to see him.

        I am horrified with my most recent experience with Dr Marcus. HORRIFIED. My 75 year old Father has been seeing Dr Marcus for the past five years and we've always appreciated the attention he has provided. Our most recent trip in April was AWFUL. My Dad is a heart patient who also has dementia and we visited Dr Marcus to discuss the swelling in his legs and feet. Dr Marcus was dismissive and told us there was not a whole lot to be done. He did, however, order bloodwork and let me know he would be in touch. After several unanswered phone calls and messages through My Chart, I gave up and made an appointment with another Piedmont physician (in a completely different practice, I might add). When I took my Dad to that appointment yesterday, I was told by the nurse and the new Dr that Dr Marcus HAD NOT EVEN REVIEWED HIS RESULTS (and they were over a MONTH old). Additionally, the new Dr recommended my Dad see his cardiologist and he recommended at-home physical therapy (both of which he put orders in for). Stay away from Dr Marcus... Especially if you are assisting your elderly Mom or Dad with their healthcare. Shame on you, Dr Marcus!

      Robert Marcus, MD

      Dr. Marcus received his undergraduate degree from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, and his medical degree from State University of New York at Stony Brook. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Emory University affiliated hospitals and is board certified in internal medicine. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and is a member of the Piedmont Clinic Board of Directors. Dr. Marcus has been practicing medicine in the Atlanta area for over 20 years. Prior to joining the Piedmont Physicians Group, he was in private practice and served as the medical director at Mariner HealthCare of Northeast Atlanta. Dr. Marcus has been on staff at Piedmont Hospital since 1993. He has a special interest in preventive medicine and believes his role as a physician is to be a patient advocate. Dr. Marcus is married with two children. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, running, playing guitar, traveling and studying other languages. Dr. Marcus is accepting new patients, including Spanish-speaking patients, and welcomes most major insurance plans.
