Piedmont Atlanta

This place is so dramatic about babies. They wont let you bring a baby in if you are a visitor and they wont let me keep my breast milk in a fridge even though it is bagged and inside another bag. This is another example of how American healthcare is anti-family and anti-breastfeeding. Im here to support my family through a surgery and they cannot make reasonable accommodations for me as a breastfeeding parent. Not even to mention that my family member is here on her third readmission since having surgery 6 weeks ago.

Back in November 2023, I had major back surgery at Piedmont. I was the first surgery of the day for my doctor (7:30 am). I was done and out of surgery by 1 pm. I did not get into a room until probably 10 pm. I watched everyone come out of their surgery and get into rooms and was the last to get into a room. How does that happen considering I was first of the day for surgery? I raised this question with the staff after being discharged. No answers were provided, but I did receive an apology letter. I would avoid this place at all cost. Theyre not concerned about your well being. How does that happen? Why was a continuously overlooked for a room for such a long time? Even my post op nurse wasnt happy about the ordeal.

I went to the emergency room on Friday due to abdominal pain. Dr. Karen Way was soo nice and sweet during my visit. Im 31 years old and felt like a little child when I came in. She was so attentive and so caring about my illness. Also, I cannot remember his name, but I guess he would be considered my triage nurse. He checked on me regularly and was so nice. We talked during my visit and I just felt so comfortable being there (hospital makes me nervous). I have never been discharged that fast in my life, lol. He was light skin, tall, with long locs. Thank you both for going above and beyond. I cannot thank you enough. Let me not forget the CT scanners. Did not get their names (a white and black guy). My Ct scan was done around 300p to 330p. Although I will add the young lady with them was kind of rude. She came originally to get me from my room and walked off while I was trying to get up. Guess I was not quick enough for her. Then when I got to the room I was so happy she was the one not doing my scan. Even the nurse that took me over thought it was weird how she just walked off from the room. But I wont let one bad apple spoil my experience because it did not. Great job, Piedmont-Atlanta for hiring the best of the best in Atlanta.
