I bought a new home from Fischer Homes in Jan 2016. I am very disappointed in the home that I bought. Buyer beware. Let me start with the plumbing system. When first moved into my house, I had a plumbing issue, my mainline got backed up. Fischer Homes subcontractor for plumbing was US South Plumbing at the time. Instead of addressing the root cause of the issue, which I later discovered was poor installation (a bellied pipe) US South Plumbing just ran a snake in my mainline to unclog it. As a result of this first incident, sewage water ran all over my hardwood floor. Fast forward two years later, the same issue, mainline backup, sewage water ran all over my hardwood floor. Finally, in 2023, the same thing happens, then I hire two Plumbing companies and both companies told me that the pipe under my house wasn't installed correctly. More specifically, the pipe has a belly in it. Financially, to get everything fix, (the plumbing, removing the concrete in my living room, removing and installing hardwood floors, drywall repair) was about $40,000. The plumbing was not the only issue. I can see drywall seams all throughout my house. Very poor workmanship. I can't tell you how disappointed I am for spending a lot of money to think that I was building my dream house with Fischer Homes to end up waking up to a nightmare. Lastly, the warranty was not created to help the buyer, like you and me, but rather to indemnify Fischer Homes from delivering quality homes. Fischer Homes is not a builder you can trust. Developer Is too greedy adding so many homes / townhomes in Twin Lakes Hoschton GA its over crowded only one small pool plus gas station is about to build. Fischer homes is terrible homebuilder. I live in my house, 2 1/2 years still dealing with the builder for home repairs. A lot of promises before you sign but after closing, you are just another number. Signed up with Fischer Homes to build somewhere North of Atlanta in May of 2021 and I can tell you the experience was horrible from the time I gave them the down payment (7%). I was told the house will be ready latest February of 2022. The sales counselor stopped answering calls or replying emails except of course when he needs something from us. I remember the sales counselor telling me I was one of the first folks to sign up for this phase. Well, I was almost one of the last folks to move in. However, I must say a new sales counselor came on board and processed a credit of $5K for us. Construction did not begin till September/October timeframe. Several missed updates from the construction manager and sometimes when he does, the updates from our realtor were more accurate. I had cases when things were reported to be done the following week but they were already done. Closing was pushed all the way to May of 2022. I remember being rushed for our home orientation and also remember being told whatever is missed will be fixed for the 3 and 12 months touch ups. When we moved in we started seeing a lot more problems from doors falling off hinges, defects on engineered hardwood floor, squeaks on the floor, bathroom cabinet falling off, opening between rails and drywall, staircase chips to wrongly installed closet doors - any countless other issues. Fast forward to the 3 months mark, we have been told most of these issues wont be fixed because they are not covered under warranty and were not listed for orientation. I want to make sure to leave a watch out for potential customers. Did you then decide to use this builder please dont be rushed or be sewer talked. If its not in writing, dont believe it.
