Greg is a great instructor. If you want to lower your handicap hes the person to see. Before I started lessons with Greg I was consistently shoot in the mid to high 80s. Now I regularly shoot in the high 70s and topping it off last week shooting an even par round of 72. Apr 16th, 2022

I have had a handful of lessons with other instructors, at other locations. I would give them probably 3.5 stars, because they did help me but there was something missing and I couldn't put my finger on it exactly. That is, until I worked with Greg Shellnutt at GreenLifeGolf. Greg had everything I needed in an instructor. For beginners, he is a really nice and well mannered guy. He makes you feel very comfortable, right off the bat, when the session begins. He listens. He understands. He allows you to explain why you're there, where you've come from, what you're hoping to fix, and who you are as a learner. He is encouraging and knows what to compliment and how to address faults in a positive way.I will tell you that my lesson with him was to solely focus on the driver, because I had enough lessons with other instructors on my irons and wedges and didn't feel they needed any additional adjustment at this time. Yet, my driver was slicing too often (I'm sure you know exactly how I feel). He started at the very beginning with me hitting a few balls with my driver so he could have a baseline to work off of, while recording it on video. Then he checked my grip, my stance, my posture, my side bend, my hip rotation, how far off the ball I was, and adjusted those for me before we focused on the main issue. The funny thing is, you don't realize how much the small things in a setup change over time when you stop thinking about them. The fact that he started at the beginning was a huge help to remember that those are important to check from time to time, no matter how long you've been playing. For example, I didn't realize my grip had actually gone more neutral when I thought it was still a really strong grip until he showed me. He also pointed out the difference between "long thumb" and "short thumb" gripping, which I honestly had never heard of before. Then, we finally focused on the one main thing he felt I needed to work on and that was my swing plane. I was swinging over the top (out-to-in club path). I knew I was doing that, but I just needed someone to confirm it for me and help me fix it. I will tell you this much: He had me shallowing out the club and swinging inside to out in three swings! Yes, three swings. After that, I never went over the top again for the rest of the basket of balls I had for the rest of the day. It was like a lightbulb went off in my head and it's all thanks to Greg. His launch monitor was showing me carrying the ball the proper distance with smash factors in the 1.4+ range. I could visibly see the range balls carrying back to 200+ yards. All in all, this was the BEST SESSION I HAVE EVER HAD and would recommend Greg Shellnutt any day of the week to anyone that needs help with their golf lessons. Sep 28th, 2021

All I can say is, 3 lessons. 3. That is all it took for me to stop topping the ball 90% of the time. Now, almost never. Superb communication and attention to detail. Genuinely great guy. Aug 7th, 2021
