Been living here for about a year and a half and have never had a single issue. Staff is always super helpful and maintenance fixes issues same day.

I lived here for 2 and a half years. The agent who initially helped me was amazing! She eventually got promoted to another location. Truthfully after she left my experience went down hill. Im not sure if it was a turn over issue, but there was a constant change of leasing agents. Information fell through the cracks. Towards the end of my lease there was miscellaneous fees that caused my rent to be different every month with no true explanation. They gave away my paid parking spot, that I had been paying on for over a year. Did not give it back to me until I called corporate.My tub was so old it creaked when I stood in it, my apartment was not cleaned when I moved in. I had a horrible spider issue, I couldnt even open my front windows. The neighborhood is relatively quiet and in a central location. But outside of Mark, the leasing staff is horrible. Tommy and evie are incredibly rudeto the point where evie said she was sick of me when I called in about my rent being almost 2000 for a 1 bedroom apartment. The front gate usually works fine but the bldg doors are constantly broken. The property itself is not bad. My grievances are solely with leasing.

I am writing to address what I believe is a discriminatory practice in my recent apartment application process at MAA Chastain. Despite providing clear proof of income and being pre approved with a month of free rent, I was informed that my application was delayed solely due to my employers choice to handle payroll in-house rather than through third-party software. MAA rewrote the rules for my application. They requested two months of bank statements and a paystub. Then, they requested two paystubs. I had the payroll specialist from my employer explain how they handle payroll, now they want to dictate how employers handle employee payroll. I wouldnt be surprised if the next requirement would depend on whether or not I drive a spacecraft.This decision appears arbitrary and restrictive, especially given that I provided verifiable documentation, including bank statements and pay stubs from the company. This kind of policy feels unreasonably exclusionary and inconsistent with fair housing standards. Such practices cause undue hardship and hinder access to housing, a basic right here in the United Statesnot North Korea.I believe they are openly discriminating against me so I cannot pay the security deposit to secure the unit, and they can sell it to someone else. I would like this matter urgently examined and to have a copy of MAAs paystub software policy (that I know they do not have), or I will have no choice but to pursue formal action through:1. A formal complaint with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for discriminatory housing practices and The Office of the Attorney General. 2. A complaint with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), as such practices could potentially have a disparate impact on certain groups of renters. 3. Legal counsel to assess further recourse if this unreasonable barrier to housing access persists.I am requesting a response within the next 24 hours to discuss how we can move forward without the need for escalation.
