Great way to exercise and learn self defense plus the coach is great

I started last month as a 66 year old who hasn't done any grappling in more than twenty years. I was happy to find that the school cares a lot about safety. All of the members are courteous and the instructor teaches techniques that are at a very high level. I am very happy at this school.

East Athens Jiu Jitsu is an excellent spot to train in Athens, GA. The culture is very welcoming to both newcomers and experienced practitioners alike. The Coach JR is an expert instructor and does a great job of displaying the techniques in depth. I would truly recommend anyone in the Athens area interested in training Jiu Jitsu come and check this place out.

Great BJJ Academy! Coach JR is a great instructor and he maintains a supportive and encouraging environment. Fellow students are friendly and supportive also. He has a refreshing teaching methodology that has greatly improved my ground game. 5-stars!

Coach JR is absolutely phenomenal. He's a great instructor that's created a welcoming environment for everyone. Don't be afraid if you're new to the sport as all the members are super helpful and friendly. If you want to train, East Athens is the place to go!
