Aparna's Dance Academy

Aparna dance academy is one of the old institute but stay away from this place. Aparna is very money focused, rude and Carrie’s lot of attitude. She always believe she is right and does would not motivate kids. Disappointed and request parents to think before they start here as kathak is a long term commitment.

I have been Ms. Aparna's student for many years now and it is no doubt that I have learned so much from her teaching. I started learning Kathak from Ms. Aparna when I was around 4 years old and after 14 years, I can truly say that she has allowed me to blossom as not only a dancer, but as a person. She is extremely passionate about Kathak and this is clear to see during class. She is invested in our success like no other. Not only is she an incredible dancer, her years of experience have made her a brilliant teacher. It has been a pleasure to learn from her. She is constantly challenging us to be better dancers. She never settles makes sure that we are given the training and motivation to realize our full potential. I would've never expected Kathak to be such a large part of my life, but Aparna's Dance Academy has allowed me to truly develop a love for this dance. If you are looking for a teacher that is willing to go the extra mile to ensure that you have a full and enjoyable Kathak education, Ms. Aparna is who I would recommend with no reservations. She is a professional has honed her craft like no other.

I have been learning Kathak dance from Mrs. Aparna for many years now. I drive about an hour each way to attend class here and have never regretted it. She has been more than accommodating and helpful from the very beginning. I used to do a different style of Kathak, and when I shifted to Aparna's Dance Academy, Mrs. Aparna took it upon herself to give me personal lessons to catch me up. This allowed me to be placed in a class with peers of my age and skill level. Even now, as I attend college, Mrs. Aparna is making provisions to allow me to graduate with the rest of my class. She also alters class time and stays late on Friday evenings to ensure that students will not miss class. Additionally, she routinely takes our opinions into consideration and adapts class to best suit what we as a group need. This kindness and consideration for her students cannot be found at any other dance academy. From a dance perspective, the training I have received here is unlike any other. I have learned so much during my years at Aparna's Dance Academy. Mrs. Aparna knows when to push us and when to be more relaxed, and it has had a profound effect on my dancing. While Mrs. Aparna is strict about practice, it is only for our benefit and I appreciate it. She has worked tirelessly to develop our technical skills, our expressions, and has taught me to love the beauty and grace in Kathak. Over the years, I have grown as a person too. Mrs. Aparna encourages us to take risks and just try the dance, even if we are not certain of the steps, She is always confident in us, and that confidence has allowed me to become both a dancer and a leader. If you want to learn Kathak dance or just try it out, Aparna's Dance Academy is the place to do it. I improve constantly and dance has become such a large part of my life- I could never imagine stopping. This is definitely thanks to the excellent education I have received at Aparna's Dance Academy, and I am forever grateful to Mrs. Aparna for being such an excellent teacher.

I have been with Aparna ji for past 3 years. She is passionate, energizing, a visionary and oh so patient! I have learned so much from this class beside the wonderful Kathak itself; grace- learning kathak changed the way I carry myself, now- a lot more gracefully. It also connected me to my body, my soul, disciplined me and engaged me with wonderful people. I am saddened that I have to step away due to relocation however, Aparna ji promises to continue virtually because that's just the person she is- the most wonderful. You also get to showcase your dance on a yearly base to an audience and your friends and family. Aparna Ji choreography is very creative and beautiful, it hard to describe in words. She dances so elegant and pretty and is an inspiration to learn from. If you live in the Atlanta area and want some classical indian dance in your life and are ready for it to change your life then Aparna Ji Dance Academy is your place. #foreverthankful
