The food has gone down since the new chef started working there. The fish tonight was the worst ever..

Bartender, Sherry, was awesome. Outgoing, friendly, accommodating, felt welcome there and made sure to tell us about upcoming events we may be interested in. Definitely will visit again when she is behind bar.

My friend and I met up with several other local motorcycle clubs to support the Winter Springs VFW last weekend for a Poker Run hosted by the Bunker Riders. Registration and breakfast were served at Post 5405 in Winter Springs. Registration to join in on the ride was $15, which included your poker sheet, fresh coffee and a variety of Dunkin donuts. Kickstand-up was at 10am, and our first stop was Larry E. Smedley's National War Museum, better known as "The Bunker" in Orlando. If you have never been here before, you definitely have to check it out. There Bunker has a variety of displays, artifacts, vehicles, and structures from the Vietnam War. The highlight for me was the Huey helicopter; oh yeah, Bud light is only $2! Our group stayed here for about 40 minutes, then traveled to the VFW Post 10139 in Chuluota. I liked this Post; however, once the 80+ riders started rolling in, the bar area filled up quick. Regardless, it was a fun spot with some great volunteers. We stayed here for about 40 minutes and then left for VFW Post 8207 in Longwood. Once again, a great spot, but I felt like a canned sardine once 80+ riders rolled in. We made some new friends here and spent most of the time talking shop out front. Finally, we traveled back to Post 5405 in Winter Springs to draw our last card, purchase a dinner ticket ($10) and attempt to win one of the raffle prizes ($2 per raffle ticket). Dinner was excellent! After fasting all day, I was ecstatic to see a southern-style feast. Pulled-pork sandwiches with plenty of sauce choices, fresh salad, collard greens, green beans with bacon chunks, mac-n-cheese, potato salad, black eyed peas, butter rolls, and brownies. What a great meal for $10; you can't beat it. Plus, drinks are much more affordable than anywhere locally other than the Moose Lodge. Unfortunately, neither of us won any of the raffle prizes or the poker run, but we did have a safe and great day riding with the Bunker Riders and other local MC's. I couldn't have asked for a better day riding or group of people to ride with. A BIG Thank you to the Bunker Riders and all the volunteers at the participating VFW's for supporting the Bunker Riders in this great effort. See you on the next one!
