It is a welcoming, wonderful place. It's also perfectly in line with the Conservative Movement. Unlike Ohev Shalom, where the Conservative Movement is mocked and your value is measured by how much money you have, Temple Israel accepts you for who you are. And the dues are actually reasonable. Men and women are treated the same, as they should be. No gender is above the other. Girls and boys receive the same education and opportunities. Congregant participation in services is a huge part of the synagogue. For all those who value egalitarianism, justice, righteousness, and the equality of all people, please come to Temple Israel. I don't want anyone to have to endure the trauma I went through at Ohev Shalom.
