image We had a great experience with Floor to Ceiling. Mike was very helpful and professional and a great communicator. He lead us through each step of the process of our kitchen remodel. The crew was also professional, skilled and took great care to respect our wishes and our home. Id like to thank Dave, Alex, and Todd for a job well done. With all the scary stories you here about remodels going wrong Im happy to be able to say that we couldnt be happier with our new kitchen!

image We decided back in April of this year to go with Floor to Ceiling to renovate our kitchen. Read reviews online. Mostly positive, although hadnt been any in 3 years.
It started when we were told that if we didnt order our cabinets before April 15, the price would go up. Seems like a standard, shady sales tactic, but gave benefit of the doubt. Called other companies in Florida that provided the same brand of cabinets to ask if their prices were supposed to go up from the manufacturer. No, was the answer I got from 2 other companies. We placed our order on April 13, with Floor to Ceiling, figuring this would likely be the only negative thing to happen.
We were told 8-10 weeks on delivery of cabinets. I also know that in construction, shipping and other outside circumstances can delay this. I get it. After 8 weeks I was told that cabinets would likely arrive the 1st or 2nd week in July. 11-12 weeks. Mind you I was not getting this information offered to me, I had to constantly check in to get updates. Checked in the 3rd week of July and was told they would arrive on the 21st of July. 14 weeks total.
On a positive note, demo had not started on Kitchen until around August 15 so we still had a functioning kitchen. Month after cabinets arrived. After demo, we were without a functioning kitchen for almost 2 months until everything was back in place and able to be used. Total time for functioning, yet still not complete kitchen 6 months.
There was no consistent communication. My wife and I became project manager on our own kitchen and had to constantly reach out to Floor to Ceiling to remind them of what needed to be done and plan dates. Communication was horrible. Multiple delays in products arriving. Only thing that was consistent was the people ordering the products, so ultimately I have to look to them as the reason for these delays. Was communicating directly with trades to inform them of what needed to be done when they arrived as too many times they were not aware.
The response I got; they had so many other projects. How is that my problem? With the exception of the two workers that demoed the kitchen and installed the cabinets (issues with that) all the other trades were subbed out. I understand construction; have to sub work out. However, when one trade shows up and cant do work because something else needed to be done first (this would be where a PM would have communicated this) we have more delays.
Communication and organization are absolutely horrible.
All of the products are absolutely stunning. Give credit to the manufacturers and installers for this. But the process and the stress associated with this organization makes it clear that they either need to hire more people or not take on as many jobs until they can better their processes.
As I said at the beginning, I understand delays. But the communication of those delays makes the long wait a little less stressful. I understand mistakes. But take ownership of that and offer some type of compensation to make up for it. And as of November 17th, the kitchen is still not complete. Actually was supposed to have person come out today to finish molding and touch up paint on cabinets. Was scheduled yesterday for the person to arrive this afternoon. No call. No show. Absolutely no professionalism.
The touch up paint for the cabinets, that was supposed to be ordered when the cabinets were ordered in April, and on two other occasions, was the incorrect color when they came out previous week.
December 2nd. Not complete. One of the handles that was installed was broken and the individual that completed the work didnt bother to tell anyone. I had to call them and have them reorder a handle to be reinstalled. When that finally happened, it was obvious why the last one broke. Not straight. So the screw broke. Now the handle is crooked and not even with the one right next to it. Still no touch up paint.
