I just had strabismus surgery yesterday at the surgery center of Weston. All the staff, especially my OR nurse, the admitting nurse and the anesthesiologist were all super kind. They took great care of me and I felt at ease going into the surgery. I felt lucky to be surrounded by them and their uplifting spirits. Of course Dr. Alvarez did an amazing job. Im so grateful for her and her team. Im day 1 post op and I feel great, everything is going smoothly. Thanks again for all the attention and care.

My husband just had strabismus surgery at Surgery Center of Weston. This is the most caring, wonderful and professional medical facility I have ever utilized. From check-in to discharge, the care was outstanding. Our doctor, Karen Alvarez, made sure we understood what to expect before, during and after surgery. LaMarsha brought my husband back to the prep area, where we met our surgical team of nurses, anesthesiologist, whose names I unfortunately didnt get. They were so thorough. After surgery, Dr. Alvarez came out and made sure I understood how to take care of my husband and answered all my questions. After surgery Laura A., a young RN, brought me back to my husband and continued to check on us as my husband came out of anesthesia. She was so personable and caring and spent a lot of time talking with us. An orderly named Jordan helped Laura walk my husband around the floor to make sure he was steady enough to leave for home. Then another orderly, David, got a wheelchair and took us downstairs to our car. Everyone we encountered on staff seemed to genuinely like working with each other and spoke to one another with caring and respect. This facility goes above and beyond taking care of their patients and I cant thank them or praise them enough.

YARI Hernndez in billing department is the WORST, UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS FAKE - UNPROFESSIONAL PLACE unless you want to be lied, months later they will take you to collections without previous warning or notifications. The front desk staff mislead and give wrong information to patients, they NEVER disclose the final payments correctly for their service before and after the surgery is done to their PATIENTS!!
On the surgery date they charged me upfront the full amount out of pocket after they confirmed that they did their jobs by verifying everything with the patients insurance but months like a year later they billed me a diferente amount.
Weston Surgery C, has learn to respect ALL PATIENTS BY DOING THEIR JOB PROFESSIONALLY, BY LAW Weston SC MUST DISCLOSE THE CORRECT CHARGES-BILLING TO US PATIENTS BEFORE AND AFTER SURGERY.
The way theyre operating ITS ILLEGAL and its not FAIR for all PATIENTS!!

Worst center!! I had pterygium removal at this location with Dr. S Mutyala. In 12/6/22, the day before the procedure Drs billing assistant called and asked to pay $500.00 was needed because my UHC insurance didnt meet up my discutible and it didnt cover all the expenses so I accepted to pay it as long as there isnt more hiding fees or more payments to make the next surgery day, the rep. Rep confirmed that it was everything needed to be charged.
Next morning I showed up for my eye procedure, the front desk person called me and asked for my ID and a credit card to process another payment of $273.26, so I felt totally in shock because I was told the day before that I wouldnt need to make any more payments out of pocket since they got everything cleared out with my insurance. I had not choice to pay them $273.26, otherwise they would canceled my procedure of a pterygium removal. The following weeks I called my UHC insurance to follow up about the payments made, I found out that my insurance paid $1,999.00 to Dr. Mutlaya and Surgery Center Weston the amount received a payment of $254.11 plus $273.26 I paid out of pocket.
Like the previous reviews say DO NOT TRUST this place!!!
This place has a terrible reputation, Ruth and Yari Hernndez are the worst in the billing department. I called them many times but never got a phone call, email or mail back in regards the new charges of $381.63, which it was never disclosed to me in the surgery date. They overcharged my insurance and billed me later on for something it wasnt never disclosed from day one again. This is the worst nightmare I had ever experienced at this location!! Whoever read my bad experience, save your time and money stay far away from this place, find a profesional surgery location!! I wish nobody can go through what I experienced. This is a total disappointed place!
