This ALF gives excellent care to their residents. Beautiful surroundings homey & caring. Lots of activities keeps their days full and the residents always have choice of fun activities to partake on. Culinary dining at their choice of delicious menu.

Horrible. My mother went for rehab after a serious illness. She had significant swelling in her hands and developed swelling in her legs that was so bad she could not do PT. Doctor and nurses kept insisting she was "fine" since her vitals were stable. We had to request an echo - which they did as a CYA the day before she left. Tech came at 10p.m and wouldn't give her a blanket when done since it "wasn't her job." So she left my mother shivering. We got her out of there and consulted with her doctors. They changed BP meds, and the swelling went away. Disgraceful.

This place is disgusting. It is not dirty or moldy but the people who work here are not human beings. I have lymphedema and take water pills. If you touch my skin with anything more than a gentle tap I turn black and blue. You should see my arms. I wouldnt allow anyone I know to come here. Even an enemy!!!!!

This facility is kept spotless and is beautifully decorated. This is honestly the most lovely ALF I have ever seen. There is a warm sense community among residents and staff alike.

Full disclosure, my past profession involved 5 years directing risk management for 70 skilled nursing facilities with 9,000 beds. Ive seen facilities in crisis, and those that run quite well, so I dont hand out a five-star review lightly, but four stars would fall short of the care we received. Keep in mind the nursing home experience is based on the staff making a bad situation better and following doctors orders. Isolated frustrations in some reviews should be put in context of whats achievable in the first place. That said, nights and weekend staffing are difficult to maintain for every facility. My wife was admitted for recovery from a compound fractured ankle and broken elbow. After an 11-day hospitalization, she stayed at the Wellington Luxe for 44 days. Her treatment involved pain/anxiety management, wound care and physical therapy. Nursing: Top notch. Over six weeks we got to know the lead and shift nurses really well. Across the board, they took a personal interest in my wifes care and were always responsive to her requests. Were there glitches? A few, involving part-time staff communications, but the lead nurses went above and beyond to address our concerns. The shift nurses consistently brought positive attitudes into the room which is extremely valuable when facing great pain or uncertainty. Quality wound care was very beneficial on several occasions. Great nursing. Most CNA care was excellent. Certified Nursing Assistants are the ones who deal with bedpans, bed changes, bathing, drinks, pillows, lighting, you name it. Some are just heroes. Be nice to them. Physical therapy was very proactive, usually twice a day. The therapists all took a personal interest in improving all my wifes new transfer techniques and exercises. So important, and greatly appreciated. Admin: Very good. They stayed on top of several communication issues with our carrier and outside doctors. The nursing support staff helped coordinate our outside appointments and orders. They always took plenty of time to listen. They went the extra mile on admissions, discharge and case mgt. The care plan meeting could have been earlier and more oriented towards next steps, but the staff is capable, positive and they care. Facility: Great. Consistently clean, no odors, beautiful grounds with tons of wildlife. Food was usually good, plenty of staff in the dining room. Activities were ongoing and fun. Live music on several occasions. The vast majority of staff were always friendly and helpful. Other residents were generally pleasant, interactive, and supportive of each other. To conclude, the staff at Wellington Luxe was friendly, professional and accessible. Most had can-do attitudes and a personal approach to service which contributes greatly to the healing experience. Bottom line though, manage your expectations at any skilled nursing facility. You cannot abandon a loved one to the system. Stay on top of the care plan, doctors orders, insurance authorizations, etc. Learn employees names and treat them like fellow humans and they will give you their all. The care at Wellington Luxe was excellent. They would be my first choice again should the need arise. We are most thankful for so many great people and favorable outcomes.
