Maris Pointe

Wonderful community, recently renovated. Looked and smelled so clean. When I toured you could see the happiness in both the residents and associates.

Greeted with a smile, and welcomed by staff, and residents. A warm, and friendly atmosphere. Had a warm cozy home feeling, and the soothing smell of breakfast was in the air.

I am basing this review on a tour I took today. I have toured several other memory care locations one I found good was the Banyan. But I have also found others that were scary dirty, and the occupants were not engaged. And reviewing Maris Pointe I found it to be clean, very inviting and the residence were busy and happy. The units were lovely and clean. They have many daily activities going on to keep everybody busy. I met with Brian, who was a doll and gave me a wonderful tour and lots of information. The rates are all inclusive and very reasonable (middle of the road as far as pricing goes for this sort of facility). This location is at the top of my list to send mom when the time comes. I highly recommend a tour. I don't believe you will be disappointed.

The management has gone from bad to worse. Where do I start, my mom fell in the facility and was transported to venice hospital. She was admitted to the ER with a 102 degree temperature which the doctor said with a major UTI which may have caused the fall. She had broken her right hip and elbow and went into surgery. Three days later I received a call that she was pushed down, I left several messages for the manager and found out days later she was out for a week. My main concern was to secure my moms room. The manager called me a week later to see if it had been handled obviously because she was not there and no one was not returning calls or checking her email. From then on all I get are excuses of why she had such a major UTI. They say they ask her if she needs changed knowing she has dementia and doesn’t know. Non of the assistants speak English which explains dirt diapers on the floor and having to change her every time I was there. I could go on and on, the management or lack of is a disgrace and should all be fired. I forgot one of the main reasons for this review, they actually called me to ask where she was after surgery.
