My issues with Tyndall AFB housing and Balfour Beatty management predate hurricane Michael...though their response post-hurricane has been less than stellar as well. I reported a mouse issue to maintenance. It took a few days for someone to respond. I investigated the source in the interim and found the wall board had been chewed through behind the stove. I showed the hole to maintenance as well as mouse droppings in the kitchen and on the window sill. Maintenance could have sent out an exterminator...fixed the wall board behind the stove...nope...he took a piece of molding and hammered it into place. That didn't eradicate a problem..it merely delayed the issue. Let's not discuss the weekly sight of a palmetto bug or the bi-monthly invasion of ants. I reported water coming into the house...it took about 4 weeks for someone to respond...each time I called weekly I would get a different response....short handed, work load, contracted service out...meanwhile, I had water in the house each time it rained. The houses were the sheer definition of old. Cracks in the foundation, steps that were sinking, outside paint chipping and metal rusting, glue for the vinyl flooring oozing through the cracks, bathrooms that had ceramic tiles on walls and floors that must have dated from the 50s. Hurricane Michael only sped up the process of eliminating housing from Tyndall AFB.
