Ken, I’m sorry to hear you are having issues with your car. Even when it's not what we like to hear we appreciate your feedback. We rebuilt your transmission in 2018 and regrettably, there were several leaks that were repaired under warranty and we even repaired your transmission as a courtesy two years ago although it was out of warranty. And I'm sure you will recall we offered a lifetime warranty in 2018 that you declined. We don't make the parts and sometimes parts fail but we will always honor our warranty. Since your car is over 60 years old and prone to repair issues, I would recommend that you consider the extended warranties on your repairs such as the one AAMCO offered you in 2018. John, First off I want to apologize if we misdiagnosed your vehicle. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I left you a voice mail earlier. As you will recall you also had another shop tell you that the noise was from your engine. We checked your fly wheel while it was still in the vehicle by removing the starter and turning it 360 degrees. We saw no cracks but we did find loose torque converter bolts which we tightened. We also removed your serpentine belt and listened with a stethoscope to the fly wheel area and all around the engine. The noise we detected was coming from the front of the engine which is the opposite side from the flywheel. That is why we determined the noise was coming from inside the engine. If we misdiagnosed your vehicle then we will be happy to refund your diagnostic fee. It was not our intention to "prey" on you or anyone else. Had you authorized the repair here I am certain that once the flywheel was removed that if we had found a crack then you would have only paid for that part of the repair.
