I thought sales people were hired to sell furniture to walk in customers. Three sales people in the store last weekend. Nobody bothered acknowledging us and we were in the store for a good 10 - 12 minutes. Looking to furnish another waterfront home and a little tired of the Sarasota coastal look. We thought Ballard would be a great source to furnish the fam room, 3 BR, 2 entrance areas and a home office but its not. Left with someone finally speaking to us by just telling us to have a nice day! Sadly disappointed. Two stars because I do love many of their pieces.

I came here with my mother right after visiting Crate & Barrel (where we had excellent service). My mother has just moved here and is buying all new furniture: Headboard, night stands, chest of drawers, dining table and chairs as well as living room furniture. So not a small sale. We had such a bizarre experience at the new Ballard store in Tampa. There were at least 4 sales people and only one other customer in the store. Not one person acknowledged us or even said "hello, may I help you." We just wandered around looking at things for about 10 minutes and still, not one worker said hello. We sat in two chairs to test them and as soon as we got up, a worker rushed to fluff the pillows and straighten the chairs. She was very worried they were not perfectly fluffed but she didn't acknowledge us. So, we left and will take our business to Crate & Barrel which has beautiful streamlined designs and much much much more helpful staff.
