Somehow the lady at the register has a problem with a 20 and 22 year old getting energy drinks. Got IDed and I wasnt even the one buying it. Ive never even been IDed for one before. She made it feel like a crime even though it wasnt like he was buying alcohol or tobacco. Super strange and she was also rude about it. I didnt have my ID because I lost it and having a new one coming in, we went to Wawa instead because she wouldnt him buy them even though he had his ID. The girls behind us were also confused. It is not illegal to buy energy drinks without an ID, although it is not recommended for anyone under 16.

Everytime I come here either for a vaccine, flu shot or medicine the pharmacy staff doesn't even acknowledge you for a few minutes. Last time I started a timer took 8 minutes before anyone even looked in my direction

Walked onto store to get a Covid booster. The pharmacist and the technician were chatting. It took 5 minutes before they looked up and asked if they could help. I explained I wanted the booster. The explained the could not give it to me unless I made an appointment on line. There were no customers anywhere near the pharmacy and no one in line in the drive thru. Obviously they were not busy filling prescriptions, just wanted to follow the corporate rules and not think out of the box. I left, went across the street to the Sam's pharmacy, which was very busy. They gave me paperwork to fill out and said it would be 25 minutes before I could get the vaccine within 10 minutes the Pharmacist came, give me the shot and was very pleasant, what a difference.

This review is not representative of the whole store or all pharmacy staff. However, one bad pharmacist can ruin the reputation of the entire pharmacy. I asked the pharmacist today if she could order an authorized generic for a prescription medication. She stated she can't control what manufacturer they use (spoiler: she can; I called the manufacturer of the authorized generic medication and their distributors to confirm prior) and I could pay for brand name or use the generic they have in stock. For reference, an authorized generic is the actual brand name medication legally sold by a different company under a licensing agreement. In many cases, this means that the same brand name medication can be received at generic prices. This is important because the FDA allows other generic medications to contain anywhere from 80% to 120% of the active ingredient, in addition to, differences in the delivery system and inactive ingredients. Authorized generics are a 100% match the the original brand name medication. Given this lackadaisical tolerance, it stands to reason that any ethical and knowledgeable pharmacist would be willing to work with a patient, within reason, to help them gain access to an authorized generic, especially when the cost to the customer is the same. It's also reasonable to assume that a pharmacist who's undergone years of specialized education and training is aware of the above facts. I have to assume the pharmacist's behavior is motivated by profit, laziness, and/or an intentional unwillingness to act in the best interest of the patient. In any case, I perceive this as unethical behavior and will not be filling prescriptions here. Fortunately, the next closest Walgreen's location was much more helpful and was quickly able to identify that they can order the authorized generic through their distributor. I will be taking my business to the other location in the future!
