I worked here for 2 months and the only thing that made it enjoyable was the residents. The managers are rude the receptionist is very unprofessional. And they call you disrespectful if you speak up for yourself. They have daily meetings , my second day on the job I mopped the floor 20 minutes before the meeting so the dining room could be clean thinking I was doing a good job the receptionist and director walked in screaming at me because I was mopping too early but then when they walk in and the floor isnt mopped yet they chastise you, so its no pleasing them. The chef would make you feel like youre doing the job wrong because hes always breathing down your back, he only tells you youre doing something wrong never acknowledging anything you do right. Staff is over worked, under paid and unappreciated, I worked 12 hour shifts 5 days out the week had to set up dining room, serve the food, sweep, mop, wash dishes take out the trash, make desserts, make salads, clean the walls, stock up coffee station, drag the red box a block away all of this 4x a day, sometimes even have to plate the food yourself cause the cook is no where to be found, and a lot of times doing all of this with no AC in the kitchen. The only good part about my experience at the Northdale was serving the residents from Mae, Nancy and a few others, they all noticed my hard work , and always told me I was the best server theyve had there in a long time I tried to stick it out because the people who stay there are truly special, I stayed longer because of them. But the environment of Northdale as a whole didnt make me feel good and I couldnt be there any longer. They also have a few great people like nurse MaryAnn, and Kim but other than that I wouldnt recommend working here and give it heavy consideration when bringing your loved ones here to stay.

I was here a few weeks back to provide Notary services to a resident and I was very impressed! It was dinner time, the food smelled great and I the place was nicely decorated. The atmosphere had a warm, cozy, homely feel to it. Everything was clean and the few residents I had the pleasure of speaking with all stated they were very happy there!

The Colonnade at Northdale has been so helpful to our family. My mother was perfectly fine 5 months ago and then she started having severe anxiety and rapid onset dementia. My sister and I struggled with what we should do as her care was too much for us to handle. We visited quite a few Assisted Living Facilities and ultimately decided on The Colonnade at Northdale. We knew from our first meeting with Diane Pagano (Director of Sales) that this was the perfect place for our mother. The decision was not easy as our mother struggled with being placed in an Assisted Living Facility. The care and concern that the ENTIRE staff has shown our family has been top notch. We are frequently communicated with about her needs and she has felt their love and support to help her with her transition. We are very fortunate that we have our mom here. I 100% recommend this community!
