Lionfish ZooKeeper (The LZK Group, LLC.)

My husband and I just participated in the ZooKeeper Lionfish Derby in Curacao, and it was a BLAST! I highly recommend booking a trip with this organization - this event was VERY well organized with excellent communication and we enjoyed every minute. We didn't know most of the other participants when we arrived, but came away feeling like we gained a whole new group of friends (ZK staff included!) that we hope to keep in touch with!

I have tried every pole spear on the market and the Zookeeper pole spear is the best. Its the right balance of mass and length for optimum killing velocity and accuracy. Their spear tip is also the best on the market as its long enough to penetrate through the really large lionfish but does not flare out after a few shots like others. Of course their namesake, the Zookeeper, is the best on the market. Their design allows the water to flow through so doesnt feel like you are dragging a boat anchor like others, plus I love the flexibility of the extender. Never know if you are going to shoot 3 or 30 lionfish on a dive and the extender allows you to be ready for either scenario. Nothing more frustrating than being on an epic dive and running out of space to put your lionfish so I recommend you add the extender to your Zookeeper. Lastly, the equipment is very well made and made in America so you are supporting a small business in America when you purchase from them.

My name is Captain John. I have known the Zookeeper team/ family for many years. They dive on my boat weekly. I have been on multiple trips with the Zookeeper team and every trip; and I do mean every trip is outstanding. Trips are seamless. Tim and Patricia always are warm and welcoming, plus they always make it fun and exciting. All the trips I have been on always have some unique adventure built in to it, like the Blue Room in Curaao. I just came back from a very organized international diving trip with this Lionfish ZooKeeper group. Everything was perfect from the airline and hotel bookings to the private dive boat charter. The high quality of their pole/sling spears and zookeeper containment systems were fantastic, making the hunting for Lionfish so much fun. They have such passion for diving and for the elimination of this invasive fish species. I highly recommend their dive trips, products, dive classes, and instruction. They are great people.
