Yesterday afternoon, I made a mobile check deposit and chose the funds Available tonight option, which should make the funds available that evening, as long as the deposit was made before 8:00pm (per Regions). I DID NOT CHOOSE TO USE THE AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY FEATURE AS IT CHARGES 1%-4% IN FEES. As stated in the Regions online disclaimer, the funds became available after 8:00pm that same evening. I paid some bills, which cleared the account last night. The next morning, I received a text alert from Regions Bank stating that they had now placed a 9 day HOLD on my deposited check, which is completely ridiculous! As a result of this hold, my account drew negative, so I went to my branch to resolve the issue with the Regions Sun City branch manager, Fernando Montoya. He was unavailable, so I spoke with Jaheel who did all that he could to try and resolve my complaint. He told me that as long as I could verify with the person who issued the check that it had cleared their bank account, they would LIFT the check hold. I immediately contacted the person who issued the check to me, and asked them to verify with their bank that the funds had cleared their account. I was able to get that verification cleared by their bank and immediately notified Jaheel. He then brought the bank manager, Fernando Montoya into the room to notify me that he was unable to release the hold. I explained that his associate Jaheel had just told me that once I could verify with the other bank that the check cleared, you would be able to remove the hold. He then got rude and completely cut me off and stated very sarcastically Sorry, I can not remove the hold I tried to plead my case, reminding him of what Jaheel had assured me of, and showing him the proof of my online transactions and actual check, but he continued to cut me off and dismiss my pleas. I then asked to speak with his authority and he said sarcastically Im the manager here, you can call, but they will just revert you back to me, so I was basically in tears at this point! I have banked with Regions for many years and this was by far the WORST experience I have encountered! I felt that I was racially profiled and there was NO reason for Mr. Montoya to deny my request, accept that he was simply choosing NOT to approve it because of my race. The bank had already released the funds, and he chose to reverse the action. I will be reporting this to the Regional office, to hopefully keep it from happening to someone else who encounters this branch and branch manager.

The hours for this bank are ridiculous! Why wait til 9 am to open? The drive through isnt even open! Is there not a way you could at least open the drive through at 8 am?
