Domestic disputes are treated as a joke by the officers all the way up until the victim is in the hospital. Then they might do something about it. Better off handling yourself. I back the blue but not that county. Better off calling Polk county.

You go to them and report wrong doings by someone eles has done. Then they question you about it. In return they try to charge you with something you did not do or know anything about. Detective Ritenour is a crooked. I just hope the Highlands county judges double check his work.

ya know I have had one interaction with HCS dupties and it was professional and the officer was very polite, I have heard of people having a different experence under the old sheriff but since Sheriff Blackman took office its a whole different department,remember their job is to go home to their families at the end of the day and if you are pulled over and given instructions to keep your hands in sight or some other command that may seem unreasonable,its not personal its for the dupties and your personal safety.

This office is full of dirty cops and the sheriff allows them free reign to abuse their authority cheat on and abuse their spouses and pay off judges on top of using dcf harass and wrongfully take children out of homes as well as doctoring their reports to follow their false narratives. Internal investigations of reports on these problems are handled by direct supervisors of the dirty officers allowing the wrong doings to continue. Its a shame that this department is being such a bad name to officers in such a time of people being anti police.
