I came in for a return, purchased one day ago, and I was greeted with passive aggressiveness, from their incompetent employee who claims that Dollar tree does not accept returns. However, their website clearly states that they offer refunds within 30 days.. The customer service in this location was absolutely deplorable.

There is never a time that you come in here that there is not a line to the point where it's ridiculous. For some reason the cashier never wants to call for backup or help so everybody is stuck waiting a very long time.

I like going to this location because it"s one of the bigger stores in my area. The inside is usually clean and organized. Big parking lot and located near other stores so you can do all your shopping in 1 area. 3 star rating for the staff. Most of the time they just aren't friendly. This recent visit was just terrible. My daughter and I stopped in to pick up decorations and supplies for her school's Valentine's Day dance. I had about 1/2 a cart of stuff. Most were the same items, just in a large quantity (ex: 20 tablecloths). Since some of the supplies were being paid by the PTA and the rest by me, I had to do 2 transaction which I separated the items with the bar and also told the cashier. Our cashier, Madie, was one of the most disgruntle employees I have witness at this store. She kept rolling her eyes as we were putting our stuff on the conveyer and mumbling loudly to herself things like "why the heck are these people buying so much stuff", "this is ridiculous", "why does it have to be me", "ugh I hate this".. you get the point. She was mumbling the entire time while slowly ringing us up! I ignored her comments since there was now a line formed behind me and because my daughter was there. When she got to the items for my second transaction, she just stopped and starred at me so I said, "these are mine too I just needed a separate receipt". Again, she rolled her eyes, sighed and continued mumbling her nonsense. My young daughter also heard everything and was looking at me so confused. When she was done ringing us up she just handed me the receipt. I said, "Thank you" and got no response. I have worked in customer relations and sales for 30+ years so I am very understanding towards retail/ service industry workers but this was just too much! Why would you be angry at a person who buys a lot of stuff from your store? When we walked out of the store my daughter asked why was the cashier saying all those mean things. I just told her Madie was having a bad day. Dollar Tree should invest in self checkouts since some of their employees don't like to ring up people who buy a lot of stuff. I would order more from their website if I didn't have to order a cases of 1 item then pay high shipping cost on top of that.

I would assume that a store this busy would be adequately staffed for the weekend. Not to mention there were two people ringing. One lady was doing a great job and kept everyone moving. And then you have Madison. The worst cashier I ever encountered and Ive been working in retail higher management for over ten years. Not only did she take almost twenty minutes with one customer but she made another lady uncomfortable. If a shovel is attached to a little play bucket - they count as one. It was completely unnecessary to question the lady; no one is trying to steal a dollar shovel toy. Madison also felt like she was above having many manners and couldnt be bothered to great me and felt it was perfectly fine to mumble and talk to herself the entire time while completing my transaction. Outrageous wait time and the poor associate interaction completely unnecessary.
