Really good selection of fresh and locally produced groceries. The bread is awesome! I see many complaints about their prices. Its difficult to understand just how expensive it is to run a local market when youre competing with giants like Publix, WD, and Whole Foods that have enormous bulk buying power which gives them the leverage to get better prices from suppliers. This is not a privilege thats available to local market owners. Its not easy!!! Thats why I avoid complaining of the higher prices at locally owned markets its just not a level play field for these guys. One complaint that I do have, and its rather significant, is the attitude of the gentleman who is the owner. Every time Ive been here and have had to interact with him its been a negative experience. Hes short in his temperament and makes customers feel as if they are a nuisance. I wasnt going to mention this until he treated my elderly mother disrespectfully recently when she was there to the extent that she made a point to tell me about it over breakfast. Almost every person that Ive spoken to that has been to this place has a similar experience. From my view, he doesnt necessarily treat people with disrespect deliberately however its clear that no effort is made to be pleasant or even respectful toward his customers. Its clear that hes not much of a people person and this sentiment is further reinforced based on some of the responses to the more critical reviews on google that hes not very receptive to criticism. A pretty unpleasant characteristic of an otherwise very nice local market that has a ton of wonderful products and food.

Business Response on Google Feb 24th, 2024
We appreciate you taking your time to give us important feedback. Our market is very special to us and the experience’s that our trusted customer’s have is paramount! Some of our staff and owners come from very different cultures, than our North American continent has typically nurtured. A South African polished gentleman and tenured businessman from there with a more quiet demeanor , relatively new to our homeland is what you and your mother experienced. Never rude, however just focused and reserved!!And yes the difficulty of owning a small business in this country and this community, with all the challenging factors, can press us at times, our apologies….short staffed, trying to please everyone is our reality, present day!Our company motto is just this Eli…“We do not build this market and grow this garden because it’s easy…we do it because we believe you deserve it.”Thank you for your understanding and compassion. Pieter would like for you and your Mom to come into our market and say hello specifically to him!All the Best
