Gadsden County Building Inspection

Arrived at the permit office to pull permits for siding and windows. It was close to lunch time, and the atmosphere was relaxed, but still professional. I had about a 5 minute wait for the person who usually handled permits to finish a phone call. He was surprisingly knowledgeable, patient and helpful. (After living in far larger places, this was a pleasant surprise). Not only this, he was very tactful when I asked him questions about exactly what I was signing. He did not grill me for more details. (I came from an aggressive HOA where we were not permitted to put in landscaping or a ceiling fan without a permit). I learned just what it meant to pull permits for a contractor vs. pulling permits for DIY improvement. That was an eye-opener. He offered to search my contractor for me, and I learned that this contractor had no licenses whatsoever. Lesson learned. I am very grateful for the service from this office.

Called today about plans to put up a carport at my house. The individual who answered my call was very pleasant, knowledgeable, understood the permits required, and helped me navigate the website.
