        Shameful! TRUST THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS, PEOPLE!! THEY CANCELED OUR MOVE 2 DAYS OUT!!DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! American Van Lines canceled our cross country move two days before the scheduled window. We scheduled it in March for June 5-8th. A representative called on June 3rd and asked to move the date an additional week out. We could not move it because wed face penalty fees for staying in the home. I asked to speak to a supervisor. Rita picked up the line and was the most uncaring and unhelpful person Ive dealt with in many years. She constantly kept interrupting me and said Maam, maam, maam!!! Things happen, Maam! THINGS HAPPEN! Our truck broke down. You have to move it or we can cancel it. RUN AWAY FAST!! A completely stressful nightmare. Do not trust them. YOUR CONTRACT DOES NOT MATTER and is written in a way to get them out of it if they dont show up. If they find someone else thats willing to pay more for a move, they will bump you off and take the other client. That is exactly what happened to us. Someone that used to work there confirmed this and said that they do this all the time and the owner is totally aware of it and does not care! If he did, then why isnt he responding to the negative reviews and only responding to the positive ones?
