Gary Sussman and especially the team leader Welly Lee did a great job to have completed my home countertops upgrade project for kitchen cabinets and sink, and 3 bathrooms sinks. Mr. Sussman made whole project smoothly by scheduling and managing the team. Mr. Lee is very professional who saved 3 big wall mirrors that were right on top of old countertops. I highly recommend Mr. Sussman and Mr. Lee who are in Marble House

Our project began on December 27th. I went in with my wife, we spoke with Gary, and seeing as he was on vacation, he made an appointment with us during his time off. At the end of our transaction, the final invoice given included the price, with rip up. He then informed us that he would have a subcontractor come by our house in an hour to check out the site and to confirm if the job can be done. After about 30 minutes of drawing out a template with the subcontractor, we were informed that the slab of calacatta would need to go through our balcony window, if we wanted the slab not to be cut into two pieces. The subcontractor implied it might not cost more. I thought that was a bold statement since it cannot be free to get a crane. Afterwards, Gary sent a text saying he would need another $350 for the rip-up and crane. RIP UP! is written on my invoice. I said fine, we can do the crane since a seam in the slab wasn't what we initially agreed on and is not what I wanted. The subcontractor informed me that he will be back the following morning, at 9-9:30 to begin rip up. Rip up day: As soon as he gets here, he begins ripping up the kitchen into pieces. While removing a piece of the backsplash, they removed paint off the wall, several inches away from the original backsplash. I asked the sub-contrator if the new piece would cover that, to which he replied, "Does Gary know you want that?", as though that was not part of the initial job. We get that squared away and confirmed with measurements, that he can cover it with a new piece of quartz. As he is wrapping up, he informed me that I need to shorten a pipe in the wall, as well, the studor vent would need to be removed since it wont fit with the sink. At this point, I am wondering how/why I need to be doing my own plumbing work, with only 24 hours. Do I need to call a plumber to get these items completed before they come back tomorrow at 1 pm to put the countertops on? After I run to home depot to get the CPVC, Glue, Hack Saw, Assorted 1.5 Inch and .75 inch pieces to get the job done. I proceeded to cut down the pipe to shorten it so the slab could be placed above it. I tried to explain to the subcontractor that I cannot just cut a pipe where he says to cut it. Pipes require to be male/female connections in order to work. He apologizes and says sorry, I do not know much about plumbing. I finish moving the pipes, so they can do the job the following day. I call Gary to ask why I am doing all this work? Countertop installation day: The next day, they showed up at 2 pm, with the crane. Prior to arrivaing, I receive a text from the subcontractor, saying that I will need to pay the crane operator with cash, total price $200. At this point the crane and slab are on their way, so I agree. Once the crane gets the slab in the air, things get pretty hairy.Their are two men trying to wrestle this slab into my second story, balcony door, while the operator of the crane is trying to explain to them how to fit it through the door. Needless to say, they hit the wall, my door frame, and bent the railing. After they get the slab into my home, they requested some help lifting the slab. I grabbed some shoes and begin helping them move the slab carefully around a corner. Again, as a customer, I dont think I should need to remove the liability from the person doing the job. Anyways, They get the slab onto the cabinets and start installing the backsplash. They cover up the huge hole they made when ripping up the previous backsplash, great! The sink fits, great! The stove fit back in its spot, great! I start thinking to myself, things are finally coming together, and then, as they are about to leave and asked me if I have someone to put the crown moulding back on the wall, under the slab. To which I reply, not really? He tells me its easy to do, you just need a nail gun and a few nails, to which I think to myself, is this something I should have to do? After he leaves, I notice that they never affixed the dishwasher into the new countertops or even into the cabinets.

Mr. Kruger we thank you for your business. We’d like to clarify some missing information you failed to post in your review.$200 was for the crane that needed to be paid directly in cash to avoid having a seam on the countertop due to the size of it. You were given the choice of having a seam or not having a seam which would require a crane to get the large countertop in your home. You didn’t want a seam, so the crane was needed and you agreed. The $150 was not for rip-up but for the bar top you asked the subcontractor to remove which was not part of the original contract. We’re a countertop company, we don’t do plumbing, carpentry, electrical or anything not directly related to the product being installed. You wanted the bar top removed so it would be flush with the countertop, that was exactly the reason you wanted it removed and it was something you discussed with Gary before the subcontractor even showed up at your home. You did not pay the subcontractor the $150 for that additional work. As stated before Mr. Kruger, we don’t offer plumbing services. When anything plumbing related comes up we inform the client so they can get a professional plumber to make any changes needed. You could have called a plumber.>The subcontractor made it clear he was not a plumber, his job was to remove the old countertop and install the new one, It’s quite difficult to get a large countertop through a balcony. Walking in through the front door with the countertop secure on wheels is very different from having to stand on a balcony on a second floor and handling a large heavy countertop that without a doubt will swing in the air even when moved slowly. It is a far more dangerous and risky endeavor. The subcontractor did his best, prioritizing the safety of those involved and the countertop. In other words, you were happy with the installation of the countertop and backsplash that you hired us to do.You wanted a molding to cover the area that you asked the subcontractor to cut down for you which was not part of the original contract. That work required a carpenter or a handyman, it is a service we do not provide. The subcontractor did work for you not specified in the original contract which you agreed to pay directly and failed to pay ($150). The crane was something you decided on when given the choice between a seam or using a crane that logically changed the situation when moving the countertop into your home. You wanted plumbing and carpentry work which we do not offer or provide. At no point have you mentioned you were unhappy with your new Calacatta Gold countertop which is gorgeous.
