Not a good experience for a prospective NP.... I scheduled my husband a NP appointment A MONTH ago; the office calls him on the day of the appointment (an hour before might I add) to tell him the PCP assigned is not affiliated with Sanitas! Unbeknownst to us, because this was supposed to be changed when I initially scheduled the appointment; I'm fully aware that the issue regarding the PCP is to be taken up with the insurance company (which was sorted out when he received the msg). My issue with Sanitas was---> insurance verification should have been done weeks, if not, a month prior to the appointment; If it was verified when the appt was scheduled, we would have known FB did not adhere to our request with changing the PCP; which would have been resolved and my husband could have been seen on the day of his appt! Not only was he called the day of, but his appt was also CANCELLED the day of, not giving us the opportunity to SELF-PAY if we so desired! It would be nice if insurance is verified, along with making sure the correct PCP is assigned, when appointments are scheduled and the not the day of the scheduled appointment :) Yes, it is the patient's responsibility to ensure PCPs are assigned correctly, however, errors happen, and it could very well be on the end of the insurance company--it's a fixable error (in our case, that's what happened)..

Yes, it is the patient's responsibility to ensure PCPs are assigned correctly, however, errors happen, and it could very well be on the end of the insurance company--it's a fixable error (in our case, that's what happened)..
