Buyer beware, unprofessional, looking to make money over integrity. for example when we scheduled the boat survey no attempt was made to ask or offer to have the boat put in the water or have the electricity plugged in. The surveyor and I each asked twice if it could be set up with electricity and was denied. Because of that the survey was not complete or helpful. The surveyor possibly could have figured out that the electricity was a problem on the boat and that there was a draw on the battery. He might have figured out that the middle bilge pump was not shutting off, therefore draining the battery. We also were told by this very knowledgeable and helpful DEA captain that there must be a short on the boat because it blew 2 electric cords that went from the boat to the dock and that the wiring panel was not in good order, had been worked on and left in a very messy and hard to figure out jumble of wires. Because of these problems when we had a captain motor the boat to the slip we rented there was a draw on the battery which made the boat in danger of losing power just as we were taking the circuitous route through the mangroves into the marina and trying to dock. We had to make emergency calls to the marina to have people on hand to help us dock in case we lost power before we got there McCall Marine Services also didnt point out that there was no way to lock the boat which we didnt notice until after the sale We had told the marine salesman that we were not knowledgable buyers and we stated up front that we are not mechanical. They did nothing to help us make sure we were comfortable with this boat and that there were no problems at the time of purchase. We were overwhelmed with these avoidable situations. Because of this we sold the boat at a loss 5 weeks after purchasing it. I sent this info to McCall to give them a chance to remedy these breaches of professionalism and common courtesy to a client and received no response

If youre like me, you may have never worked with a brokerage before. What I will say is: Dont hesitate to work with this one. Richard was extremely responsive to emails/calls, and was so flexible with meeting us to view, sea trial, and ultimately pickup the boat. Living almost 2 hours away made it difficult to get there during business hours, but Richard met me after hours, and even on Sunday. He came prepared with documents ready to be signed, no going back and forth for negotiations or paperwork. The office staff is great too. Received a call notifying me title and registration were in the mail, and I got them a couple days later as promised. These guys really went above and beyond to get the job done.

Do not engage McCall Marine Sales to broker your boat. The owner, Jerry McCall, and his inexperienced staff take incompetence to a new level. I left my 30' boat for them to sell, and it was laughable. It turns out that their new salesman had never sold a boat and had virtually no boating experience. They called me stating that the engines would crank over but not start. I sent a mechanic to the brokerage lot to find that the salesman did not insert the kill switch that is a prerequisite for starting any boat. They were not able to even conduct the sea trial without an outside captain that I hired. This is like a car dealership selling cars without any licensed drivers on staff. It is standard practice for the broker to handle seatrials without the client having to find a captain. Particularly for a brokerage who's motto is, "drop off your boat and pick up a check". I requested that McCalls reimburse me for the cost of hiring the captain which they were unwilling to do. They received a commission for a $50,000+ boat that they could not even operate and were unwilling to reimburse the cost of a captain. Evidently, the only employee with the requisite boating experience to conduct seatrials left to work for a competent brokerage a few miles away. The buyer even said that the only thing that they disliked about the boat was the brokerage and it's abrasive and inept staff.
