Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

I've been to cracker barrel a million times in my life like most Southerners. Usually having nothing but friendly prompt service in a no frills environment. And that is normally case at this location. They have a nice store, good food, and friendly employees. But for some reason at this location I've had spotty service more than once. This last Monday though was THE worst. We came in hoping to get a quick meal before going to the park to watch the partial eclipse. I am not in any way exaggerating when I tell you that it took us an hour and 45 minutes to get through a simple cracker barrel meal. My coffee was not refilled one single time. My water was not refilled one single time. I asked for napkins maybe three or four times until I got tired and stopped asking. Our daughter's side of mac and cheese took 30 minutes to come out after she's finished all her other food. The girl that was serving our table that day must have come by a total of three times in the 1hr45 minutes and that's counting the last time that we literally had to chase her down just for the check. I ended up asking other servers for condiments and napkins and even coffee. We got out of there so late that we almost ended up missing the whole eclipse viewing. It was ridiculous. Whenever I make it back over there I'm checking to see if she is working and making sure I DON'T get sat with her. Management should make a note. The other two women serving tables that day where whizzing around (prob picking up her slack) friendly and attentive to their guests. I know everyone has an off day and for the love of God I know the service industry is hard. But there's a simple element of basic cordiality and a desire to give people good service that accompanies this job, and if you don't have either of those inclinations you really should look for alternate work in a different industry. My husband and I have a combined 26yrs in the industry and for him not to tip, you practically have to spit on his plate in front of him. But she got 0. Really ruined an otherwise nice afternoon with our kids. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu is very complete with lots of choices.

Typical southern breakfast, the presentation of the dishes is not done with much love, but the service is good

My server was great, even though I came in close to closing. Parking: More then enough.

Food was barely warm. It took 45 minutes for our 2 breakfast order to arrive. Not even a biscuit to enjoy while we waited. The gravy was so cold it was congealed.
