Momma Goldberg's Deli

The staff is very friendly, but it's not enough to make up for the robbery that takes place every time I've ordered food here. No matter what sandwich you get, you're going to pay at least $6 for a pathetically tiny sandwich that is mostly bread. Their nachos are comparatively pathetic - $3 for (literally - my cousin is a former employee) a snack size bag of nacho cheese Doritos with a little bit of cheese on top. Jalapenos optional. If it was delicious food, maybe I could condone selling it at extortionist prices. It's not bad, but I can honestly say it's about the same if not worse than Subway except Subway has much larger portions that consist of a smaller ratio of bread for about the same price.

Upon entering Momma Goldberg's, I was excited to possibly find a new salad lunch spot. However, this was not the case. The first thing my fiancé and I observed was the staff eating in the "food prep" area. This concerned me as it violates all "food safety" laws, but we decided to be brave and order anyways. The second observation was during the simple ordering process, the counter girl was complete incompetent! Our order was very simple: a Momma's Bambino Sandwich and a Grilled Chicken Salad, however she unfortunately struggled to ring us up. Then came the waiting process, 25 minutes from the time we sat down (not including the time at the counter). Once our food arrived it was yet another disappointment. My "Grilled Chicken" Salad was PATHETIC! Cold little chunks of Tyson-like mystery meat sparsely sprinkled on a bed of lettuce with tomato, cheese and .99c croutons. Now for an $8 salad this is not acceptable. I expected fresh hot grilled chicken, not some meat like chunks I could buy at Walmart. My fiancé's "Bambino" was not anything to right home about either, low quality at its finest. When the counter girl came over to ask how everything was, I told her my displeasement. All she said was that she would let someone know, no manager ever came to apologize or even acknowledge my displeasement. I wish I could give this place zero stars to be honest. My recommendation: SAVE YOUR MONEY AND EAT AT HOME!
