Company designed repairs to replace damaged trusses and joists in comprised ground floor ceiling (structure damage) that were to restore integrity of a condo located in 3 story townhomes on Thomas Dr., PCB, FL in 2022. After sagging worsen during repairs county FAILED permitted work inspection requesting EOR letter.
After this engineer firm submitted TWO (2) not just ONE (1) EOR letter, the Bay County building dept., inspector continued to FAIL inspection stating both EOR letters sent to county from engineer did not address and resolve problems in his engineering design and implementation of his work. County inspectoe notes clearly states this is engineering issue not a contractor caused issue. Contractor just simply followed engineer design. Permit shows these notes of failure on EOR letters documented in building dept public record.
Current status is this structure remains sagging and has continued to deteriorate. A design this engineer firm was paid to design and repair not to create further structure problems to an already known damaged structure by hurricane in 2018.
Two 2 yrs (2024) later since engineer design implementation worsen this sagging structure problem, this engineer design created problem remains unresolved.
Engineer refused to come back out again to re-inspection in 2022 as further sagging developed in structure even when offered to pay him for visit.
A construction company was then called out for re-inspection of structure months later in 2022. Estimated structure damage repair quote of at least $200k plus and will require additional expense of another engineer design to repair.
This estimate clearly states structure is "not safe" and is "not a simple fix to repair". This estimate was made in fall of 2022 after county had failed inspection twice with engineer and without any further repairs made or attempted by engineer or contractor.
