Arosa Orlando provided Care management for a family member. I found their communications to be limited, and they did not have the level of medical knowledge that we required for our family member. I also felt that they were trying to "upsell" me on other services rather than focusing on the level of care they provided.

My father was coming out of a four month time frame of in and out of hospital twice and then to rehab for multiple failing health issues. Once he was home we knew we needed some help. Arosa was referred to us by a close friend. We were assigned several in home helpers. All of them fantastic. One of them really meshed well with my dad. Her name was Desiree. She too had military experience so she had a lot in common with my father. My father liked that she knew what to do ahead of when even dad knew, as far as his daily needs and help doing daily functions. My father has a catheter and oxygen, so until hes completely better it is a task to do normal daily functions. He is working on gaining his strength back. Desiree has been a huge help. She has tons of common sense, initiative , and kindness. My father is very happy with her helpful care. Arosa needs to hold onto to Desiree. She is very good at this kind of help and care. Arosas staff are also very attentive, available and helpful. We are very happy with our experience with them and would indeed refer them and Desiree. Thank you to you all.

In mid-January my wife who is 75 fell and broke her hip. After surgery she was transferred from the hospital to a temporary care facility and in mid-February she returned home. My son flew down from Vermont and was instrumental in finding a care managment team that could take care of my wife during her recovery process. That team was Arosa and the care giver assigned is Cynthia Williams. I could not have asked for a more skilled care giver. She is conscientious, compassionate and above all knowledgeable in all aspects of health care. She was exactly what the Arosa manager said she would be and the care given to my wife has been excellent. I am glad to share this testimonial and would highly recommend anyone needing quality care service contact the Arosa office in Orlando.

How do you deal with an accountant dad who lost his long-term care insurance when he forgot to pay the premium and owes tens of thousands to the IRS for failing to file after years of spot-on returns? Or a mother on a revolving door in and out of the ER because the nursing home where she lives has thrown its hands up at how to deal with her stubborn noncompliance? There's no handbook for dealing with this stuff, but there is O'Rourke and Associates, who helped me navigate the legal, financial and familial waters that I found myself in. Amy Cameron O'Rourke and her endlessly patient staff are skilled at both the mundane aspects of elder care as well as crisis management. Their approach--of which they're known for nationally--is about listening to the older person, granting them their dignity and finding creative ways to deal with the situations at hand. I can't thank them enough for all they've done for me and my parents. Yes, there are things you could do on your own--like filing for Aid and Attendance for Veterans and Surviving Spouses--though you would never know where to begin and will be far less successful in getting the VA to approve it.
