I worked here as a preschool assistant some years ago. Was one of the most toxic staff, that I have ever worked with. The leadership was terribly unkind, lacked empathy and tact.. One of the assistants Mimi would randomly hide important things. She was one of the worst.. She would gossip about other teachers and say terrible things. If you didn't join in, she would try to find ways to sabotage you. Other assistants would stand by, while the children cried for water when they were in the hot sun. The director knew what was going, and did nothing.. As a person who probably claimed to be christian, she was awful and lacked compassion. Sometimes the children would need structure and a moment to calm down especially the younger ones. They were jumping around on tables, chairs large toys etc. If you sat them down in a chair so they wouldn't hurt themselves they didn't like that. I was told to "redirect" small children that could have seriously injured themselves. One person on staff who told me that I would one day find better, was the exception. She was right. I did find better. That director and some of the staff, is why so many early childhood workers have left teaching and early childhood support.
