Beware of this business. I had a terrible experience with Astoria 44 and I want to make others aware so they do not make the same mistake that I did. Not only was this company difficult to work with but when I began to feel extremely uncomfortable with a few things and brought in an actual GC to assist me and we asked a few basic questions this man threw up his hands, raised his voice at all 3 of us and said he wasnt completing the work we have a signed agreement that he will complete. I asked for my money back and of course he refused. Im going to be filing an official complaint and want to advise anyone considering working with this company to avoid doing so. UPDATE/ RESPONSE: Wow Orlando, you are a very shady fellow. To suggest that I had any issues with my previous builder is an absolute lie. You are well aware that the Tampa based builder pulled out of all construction projects in the Orlando market and my home was one of them. Furthermore, today you reached out to me and asked me how we can resolve this and asked me to remove the reviews. I told you I was not willing to do that. Then you said "What would it take to remove the reviews" I told you a full refund of the $5000 you charged me for preconstruction fees. As a single mom I wasn't aware that your fees were exorbitant for my project and $1,500 is more standard. I've since been educated that you took advantage of me. In any event since we're on this subject you also led me to believe that you were a general contractor when you are NOT and you do not have the education under your belt to act as a GC. So, since you dropped the ball several times (and I have the texts between us proving this as well as your apology text promising to do better) I became uncomfortable with some of the things you were telling me so I asked for a 3 way call with an actual General contractor. He noted this build was a mess and we were NOT ready to go to permitting as you had been promising me and he basically concluded that you were in over your head and did not understand all that was involved to make this project come to life since the plans were not drawn up by your team. Multiple professionals witnessed your behavior and frankly have told me I dodged a bullet by not working with you. I posted this review so no-one else would have the unfortunate experience that I did and most certainly wouldn't give you ANY money up front. Your response below is so unethical and shady I can't believe it. I'm tempted to post our text chain next so people can see the actual reality and what it's like to work with Astoria 44.

Simplly put, Astoria 44 has a knowledable, dependable team that is responsive. We appeciated their communication and commitment to quality work for us while we built out our warehouse with their help. Thank you Astoria44.

Hard to find a professional and honest contractor. Astoria 44 is a tremendous company, always responsive, professional and did a tremendous job. I would give them 6 stars if all possible.
