Ocean Ridge Police

The officers of the Ocean Ridge Police Department are extremely rude, uninformed, and obnoxious. The Ocean Ridge police force is seemingly always looking for trouble and is always picking "fights"/arguments with residents. Ocean Ridge is a nice town, and should have a respectful police force, but it lacks that crucial aspect.

Ive had the pleasure to meet several of the OR staff and theyve all been professionals. As a fellow law enforcement professional, they are extremely service oriented and a credit to our profession.

The Ocean Ridge police are awful. They lack the respect and courtesy it takes to be an officer. They are not friendly and I am often harassed by their nonsense.

I was driving my golf cart in a residential neighborhood when I was pulled over by two police officers. One was super nice the other was very strict, he was hassling me about driving my golf cart stating that it was illegal. calling it a Low Speed Vehicle and therefore I could not drive it without a plate. According to state laws a low speed vehicle is a golf cart or other vehicle that goes above 20 MPH. My golf cart goes 19. He was almost convinced I stole it. Searching to the VIN, asking for bill of sale etc.. He was going to make me leave it on the side of the road and told me I can't drive it, by law I am allowed to drive it in the neighborhood because it is a GOLF CART. I was only let go because they received a call for a stolen vehicle. If they weren't harassing me maybe that vehicle wouldn't of been stolen. I live in Gulfstream and drive past the cops everyday and have never been stopped. I think they need to find better ways to protect and serve other than harassing people on golf carts.
