Meridian Behavioral Health

My 31 year old son has been in mental health crises for weeks and these people just keep playing around!!! He has autism and schizoeffective disorder and SMA can't get him stable so I went to Meridian two weeks ago and HE IS STILL IN CRISIS!!! We went to the Ocala office on March 1 and filled out the paperwork. I told the man at the counter that Robert still had all his rights and I needed a form for release of information so the doctors could talk to me and he didn't give me one so I assumed they didn't need it. Robert got Baker Acted into SMA that day and I made a same day telehealth appointment with Meridian when he was released and was told to take him to the crisis unit in Gainesville for further evaluation because HE WAS DELUSIONAL!!! But because he wasn't suicidal or homicidal, THEY SENT HIM HOME!!! So, Friday, March 8th, we had another telehealth appointment and we were told he was being referred to a psychiatrist and we have heard nothing! And when I try to find out anything, nobody will explain anything because the release of information was never given to him to sign! Meanwhile, he is STILL NOT SLEEPING AND IS DELUSIONAL AND IN MENTAL HEALTH CRISES but apparently they only care when you become suicidal or homicidal.

If I had to use three words to describe this place it would be: unreliable, difficult, and unreachable. Appointment after appointment would be canceled, usually 10 minutes before my appointment would begin. To offer help to someone who is struggling and then suddenly pull the rug out from under me again and again absolutely crushed me. My last appointment was going to be online with the doctor, fifteen minutes before it should begin I realize I didn't get a link sent to me. I call, and I am on hold for over three hours before i finally reach the end of the long waitlist, and the call suddenly ends. I began to genuinely believe these people had it out for me. I called my therapist Christina, left voicemails, texted, AND emailed and Christina never got back to me. For some reason I could no longer reach the receptionist desk, I would be on hold forever even though there was no line in front of me. I ran out of medication because i couldnt reach anyone and i was unable to come in person. If you want help do not try to get it from here. They will not help you and hey sure as hell never helped me.
