I went to Dr Parker because of a newspaper article last year giving him a " favorite" dentist in Ocala, Fl.. The office staff is VERY friendly, sometimes overly so, the Dr. seemed nice. A problem with the doctor was the first time he had to inject novocaine he apparently broke through a blood vessel. And the left side of my face underneath my eye to my chin apparently bled slowly during the night because the next morning when I woke up I had a big bruise. It was so bad that after the first time I went out and people stared at me, I did not go out for several days. It looked as if I had been punched in the face. After I went to the physician to show him, he said just apply ice to it, his tech told me he felt very bad about it but what could I do? I was reluctant to go back to have another tooth fixed but I figured that was just an accident the first time but then when I had my tooth filled two weeks ago, two of the injections given in the side in the back of my mouth left me with pain trying to open my mouth and I had swelling for 4 or 5 days afterwards. I iced it as often as I could and then applied heat because that is what I was told to do when I called the dentist office to ask what else I could do. I can feel a small lump where the top jaw & bottom jaws come together. After work yesterday I decided to run over to him to see maybe I could have an X-ray done or let him look at it.. I know I had no appointment but I figured it would be five minutes of his time, Well, the first tech who came in tried to convince me he gave injections on the other side of my mouth and I said "oh no, I know where he gave me the injections because that's where it hurts now." The second tech came in and told me that an x-ray would not show the area where I had the pain coming from (in the jaw bone)and he was busy with other patients. I said all I need is a few minutes of his time just to let him feel what I feel with my hand. I was there for over an hour and a half waiting for him and he never showed his face. I had to leave as it was getting dark and I am not comfortable and should not drive when it's dark out. My husband is a retired physician and I know because I've worked with him, that he would never do that to a patient of his. If they came in without an appointment with a problem he would take a few minutes just to check on them and say hello. I felt this dentist is not one I want to go back and see he seems to have no concern for his patients. I could never trust him giving me novocaine anymore. They also ask you now to pay before you have some procedure done, my husband said he felt so insulted.

I have been going to see Dr. Parker for a couple of years. I have been happy with the work he does but his wife who runs the office has been rude when I've asked about how much the insurance is going to pay. Their office has told me I MUST pay out the full amount and then wait to get reimbursed by the insurance company. WRONG! That's why dentist sign contracts with insurance companies. After many phone calls on my part questioning this and finally finding out this is absolutely ILLEGAL, they decided to charge me the proper amount of money. This information came straight from the insurance company. I have been treated like I was an idiot and I now have NO desire to go back to them. They obviously don't know what customer service is all about!!!
