I lived there with my folks from '72 till '85- it was where I went to high school, junior college, (college at FAU), and then my first year of marriage. I was 14 when we moved from Ft Lauderdale- younger than the allowed condo age. The building was brand new. Apartment 1111. My folks were supposed to get the 1101 (southeastern apartment overlooking the ocean), but there was a mixup...FIU didn't exist. My Dad jogged through Interama every day. It was all woods, scrub, pine trees, cypress, mangroves and blue crabs by the millions!!! When FIU opened up and the first condo within Interama was constructed, all the crabs were crushed... used to have MILES of birds flying south... blood red moon's viewed from the rooftop. There were 6 children (high school aged) and we were always blamed for anything and every thing! I loved the pool! It was so nice to go down in the elevator and go for a swim at all hours! Shooting pool was great until the elder's came to play and gave us kids the boot! Eventually, my Gramp moved into a10th floor unit as did my folks' best friends (they moved from Morton Towers on Miami Beach to be closer to my folks)... I believe Hallie still lives there... please tell her I said hello if you meet her!! ...I've soooo many fond memories...
