I have been thinking about joining this congregation but have changed my mind. I once had to make a stop in the parking lot of the church to take an urgent phone call. While on the phone, I noticed a very gentle looking cat in the bushes. When I finished my call, I came over to the cat and started petting it. I realized it was hungry because it kept meowing. I always keep cat food in my car but before I even got back to my car to put some food down I was approached by the pastor Who asked me if I was feeding the cats. I told him I was not but I was planning to. He got very upset and told me not to feed them and started checking the bushes to see if there was any evidence of my having fed the cat. I would never join a congregation with a pastor who has no compassion for animals who are hungry or much less thirsty.
