Cascade Link at Douglas

So far the experience with cascade has been very disappointing. We were given a start date to our lease on a day they are not open. We asked for a walk through prior to possession and were told no. The welcome letter doesnt tell who to write checks to. Communication is terrible. Our leasing agent called me the wrong name and told me I was difficult because I was upset she didnt respond to my emails or call me back when she said she would. Reviews are generally not good so I truly hope it gets better once we move in.

I lived in this building for a few months and there were a lot of problems especially for a complex that is brand new. For starters I had silverfish everywhere in my unit not matter how clean my apartment was. They would get into my cabinets and closet. One nightI left my notebook on the ground in my living room and the next morning I went to pick it up and a bunch of tiny silverfish came running out from underneath it. I researched how to get rid of these bugs because I thought it was something I had been doing, but it turns out they are commonly found in buildings that are really old or are able to enter buildings from water damaged sources, which makes sense because this building also floods terribly. The last 2 months I lived in this complex almost the entirety of people living here had to be moved out of their unit because of flooding. I lived only on the 5th floor and they were doing construction in the unit above me that had flooded for hours into the afternoon and early evening almost every night even on the weekends. This would happen almost every time it rained. If you value a space without bugs, noise, and flooding do not live here.

Weve been in the building for 2-months now. Love living here. The staff are friendly & the amenities are awesome. The location & views are incredible.

Does anyone know who the contractors were and who is ultimately responsible for this debacle? It would be incredible that this company, responsible for such cheap building quality and poor materials, hasn't been sued or gone out of business yet. Everything in the renderings looks wonderful, and the staff is doing their best to rectify the situation, but take a look for yourselfeverything is falling apart, and this new building already looks 15 years old due to the irresponsibility of the architectural firm. There was absolutely no proper construction oversight; it seems like nobody cared. The building was constructed by amateurs, resulting in a colossal waste of materials.
