Took the family to Raos in South Beach and it did not disappoint. The ambiance, the service, the food were all excellent. Our server Timothy made us all feel like family from the moment we were seated. We did the shrimp scampi, meatballs and mussels for appetizers. All of them were presented to perfection and matched their appearance in flavors. We did the carbonara and penne a la vodka for pastas which were great. We did a chicken dish that was off the menu which had a bit too much heat for our palates but cooked quite well. The tiramisu and sorbet desserts for the table were the perfect way to end the dinner. We cant say enough good things about Timothy our server. I read some reviews before making the reservation that complained about the restaurant enforcing their dress code but Im glad they do, you can tell theyve put a great deal of time into the design and decorum of the restaurant so the least patrons can do is come presentable for this dining experience.

Raos is good but its also a bit of a tourist trap. The front desk host could not have been friendlier and outgoing. Once we were seated the waiter was clearly looking for us to leave despite a couple of attempts of asking for a few minutes to look at the wine list and menu. I was not expecting to be absolutely rushed through dinner. Ive only been to a few restaurants that I have felt this rushed and Raos is certainly one of them. Food is good to very good but not great, I would say the food came out of the kitchen very quickly to be freshly prepared. Making matters worse is the service was borderline rude because they have booked the restaurant to the max and turning the tables is more important than allowing customers to enjoy the experience. Raos is very much overrated. The restaurant itself is very nice and the atmosphere was also very nice. Service needs to improve including allowing customers an opportunity to enjoy their meal especially when youre paying >$125-140 per person with automatic 20% tip included.
