Impossible to sleep with the noise of the neighbors... very thin walls.

Would absolutely not stay here again. It was one of the worst hotel experiences Ive had, especially considering it cost the same as any other 3- or 4-star hotel! This felt like a remodeled hostel. Do not go here unless that is what you want. - Walls are extremely thin - we could hear word for word conversations of our neighbors. We were on the 2nd floor and could hear every footstep from the people above us. We complained in the middle of the night, and asked to move to a higher floor, which the front desk said they couldnt do unless it happened twice. We were woken up from the people above us continually moving around at 5am. Ive never been in a hotel with this thin of walls. It happened every night, making it impossible to get a good nights sleep - The whole hotel smelled. The lobby reeked of unpleasant cleaning supplies. Our rooms had a different cleaning smell that was not enjoyable either. - Every time someone above us flushed a toilet we would hear the waste water rush past our bathroom, like it was a waterfall by our beds headboard. Gross and so loud. Not what you want on a relaxing vacation. - There is no parking or valet. We asked what the front desk recommended, and we had to park in a lot 2 blocks away for $30/day (no ins/outs). - There is absolutely zero amenities. The photos on this Google listing are falsified!! There is no hotel bar, food, room service, nothing. Do not expect more than a lousy hotel room and a hostel style lobby. They dont even have water bottles for guests. It felt like such a cheap hotel - They dont offer any hotel cleaning or towel swap. You have to pay extra for that. Unbelievable!! - They only have AC, no heat. Ive never been somewhere like that, it makes sense for Miami once they told us, but when the room was set to 62 and freezing when we got there, it was unfortunate we had to just wait hours until the room naturally heated up. The only positives: - Rooms themselves were updated - Beds were very comfy - The Wifi worked well I would never stay here again due to all the inconveniences and poor experiences, especially that we couldnt sleep because the walls/ceilings were so thin. The noise level inside the hotel was just absolutely unacceptable. They need to fix the walls. Avoid at all costs. Rooms: Recently remodeled, nice wood detailing. However the walls are so thin you can hear every foot step and word of your neighbors. Unless youre hard of hearing, find another hotel Walkability: Close proximity to restaurants and the beach Food & drinks: None!

The hotel is very well located. Very central and you can walk to the main streets of Miami Beach. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. The personnel is very friendly. The only thing to keep in mind is that the cleaning service is paid separately (I have never seen it in Europe) and there is no breakfast option.

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I was completely deceived by the photos online. The hotel does not have any amenities (no pool, no restaurant, no maid service). The hotel lobby reeks of tequila and bad hand sanitizer. The lobby furniture looks like someone bought it all at a garage sale or Craigslist. The walls and floors are paper thin, everyday we have been waking up to loud footsteps upstairs and babies crying. Overall I feel very deceived. This has been the worst hotel experience of my life and I really hope you dont stay here, and if you do bring ear plugs and a face mask.

We were a little hesitant to stay here after reading some of the other reviews, however, we had a great experience overall! I would also like to mention that I believe that we were given the best room on the property (a corner room with a partial ocean view on the top floor). We arrived early in the morning and the front staff was very gracious and allowed us to store our luggage for the day while we waited for our room to be prepared. While the front desk staff was not as traditionally professional as larger hotel chains, they were extremely hospitable. We were two college-aged girls staying alone and we felt safe and secure throughout the duration of the trip. We wanted to make the most of our trip so we spent most of our time in Miami out at the beach or enjoying the nightlife so there was very few time actually spent in the room but the room was kept tidy and had all the essentials (bed, desk, bathroom). The other reviews mention the lack of amenities but we did not find this to be a problem for the kind of experience that we were hoping for in Miami. I think that the majority of the negative reviews were seeking more of an all inclusive resort experience but I thought this hotel was very suitable for our needs! The kind gentleman who works the night shifts occasionally would keep us entertained as we came home during the early hours of the morning and there was one night where a fellow guest was heckling us which was obviously out of the hotels control, but nonetheless a little frightening for two girls staying alone. I feel terrible for forgetting his name however the nice gentleman at the front desk did a great job of de-escalating the situation and making us feel comfortable and safe returning to our room. We were very pleased with our experience staying at Sonder the Abbey! The location was very convenient with the majority of south beach within walking distance! If you are looking for a no-frills fun experience, this is the hotel for you!
