This is my response to a denial from Red Cross. Please share! #americanredcross #explain #notveryamerican @everyone Good Morning, I have some questions on what the basis of giving out help is. My neighborhood had almost the entirety flood. You guys set up for meals and helped pass out food. My neighbors who had the exact same damage as I did received financial assistance from you this past weekend. My case was denied based on a visual inspection of exterior that did not show damage. So I sent an estimate for the rebuild for my downstairs in which we had to do 2 ft flood cuts throughout, take out all of my flooring which was about 1100 sq ft. Had to demo all my kitchen including tossing 3k worth of appliances. Things I still have to get removed and replaced is my non functional hot water heater. My now non functional A/C units that sat in 4ft of water. I provided my approval from FEMA for assistance through them bc you asked for that. I also provided my insurance claim stating that my policy does not cover flood and that they observed the flood damage while checking for other damages. I am a single Mom who has 3 children. Currently we are having to live in separate living as we can not live in our house. Im curious why my case doesnt meet your criteria and what that is?
