I had a appointment at 2 pm. I was sitting in the chair until 245 and walked out to reschedule another appointment that I had the same afternoon. Walked back in two minutes later and they told me I would have to wait over 30 minutes to be seen again. Rude staff

Had issues with some of devas crowns, they dropped and left a huge gap between teeth. They had been very good up until the point of the pain and issues with the crowns dropping in the mouth. I felt they were pushing me to implants which I don't want, she became very guarded. But they left me with mouth pain the last few months.

Dr. Deva and Tera made my crown experience awesome - they are a top notch team and extremely knowledgeable and skilled. And the laid back Saturday appointment made it all the better. Thanks!

If I could give Veira Modern Dentistry zero stars, it would be too many. First off, the positives. Office was clean. Staff were reasonably nice though very pushy in a sales/doom & gloom sort of way. I preface all of this with: I got a second opinion at a highly regarded reputable dentist AND spoke to my endodontist about what Dr. Billhartz said I needed. The diagnosis? I ultimately need 6 cavities filled and a regular cleaning. I need some work done on my 2 front teeth that might be an implant situation but is very likely a replacement crown situation. Viera Modern Dentistry might as well have said my mouth was falling off my face. According to VMD.. Those cavities? Every single one apparently needed a root canal and an expensive crown. They do not offer the crowns covered by literally anyone's insurance. This was going to cost thousands of dollars. These are going to cost me less than $300 at a reputable dentist. That's total. Not per tooth. The expensive cleaning determined from the periodontal charting? Basically every tooth according to them was a 4 and a couple of 6's thrown in. This basically meant I have early stage periodontal disease & need an expensive root planing & debridement that was going to cost me around $900. They said it was needed especially because of the amount of bleeding in my mouth. New dentist's opinion you ask? Mostly 2 or 3's and a single 4, a regular covered by insurance cleaning would suffice. They also said it was an entirely normal based on when I had my last cleaning. That bleeding? Hardly any bleeding at reputable dentist and in my opinion the bleeding I had at VMD was probably due to an inexperienced dentist and not the state of my oral hygiene. In regards to the cleaning, it gets better. I asked VMD to schedule me for a basic cleaning and they would not. A front office staffer actually had the audacity to say that a regular cleaning could cause more harm than good and would push infection into my gums. Unclear what her medical training was but since she was the one who showed up with a $20k + treatment plan to go over with me while I was still sitting in a chair (3 HOURS LATER), I am guessing her specialty was in profits not dentistry. She told me not to worry though, they had in house finance options. Finally, perhaps the only part of this entire ordeal that wasn't a bunch of malarkey was the assessment of my front teeth situation though with some caveats. Basically I need to replace my 2 front teeth crowns. One of them has a post and if we pull the crown off and the post and tooth underneath crumble, I will need an implant. VMD told me they would not even try to replace the crown and that I need to jump right ahead to 2 implants even though one tooth doesn't even have a post in it, the replacement is mostly aesthetic on that tooth. The implant process according to them would involve bone grafts, a freaking flipper for $800 (fake temp teeth), and two expensive implants that are, you guessed it, not covered by almost anyone's insurance. After over 3 hours in a dentist chair with a sore mouth, no cleaning, and 15 pages of "urgently" needed care totaling over $20k, I left the office in a bit of a panic convinced that the only way to keep my teeth from falling out of my head and not getting a one way ticket to denture town, was to either go to Mexico or have VMD take care of it. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion and I am SO glad I did. There might be some skilled dentists working here and hey, medical degrees are expensive but my experience was this is a money grab corporate dental "practice". It's disconcerting when medical professionals can not be trusted to recommend care that benefits their corporate overlords instead of the patient's best interest. I am sure they will reply to this review with a friendly "we value your feedback and please call our office to discuss"...NAH. There's nothing to discuss. Y'all know what you are doing just this time, in the words of Elle Woods, you picked the wrong girl. Take away? GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
