Hello Pat, Thank you for the review!I apologize sincerely about the insects on the two plants. As you may know, the design we put in was one that you had drawn out ahead of time, and Gardenia being one of the species within it is especially susceptible to pests Florida, more-so as you travel farther south. (See here for more information: https://hgic.clemson.edu/factsheet/gardenia-insects-related-pests/)Realistically there will always be pests in South Florida landscapes, though we do try to control it the best we can. This particular Gardenia was not originally intended for your project, it was an upgrade that was made at the last minute due to the locally available Gardenia standards not being as mature as we would have liked. It was one that was in our holding area at one of our locations, where we typically do not stock material that is as pest-prone as Gardenia. This is because when we have material leaving our property locally, we can not douse it in pesticides or do blanket applications because it may end up at the property of a client that prefers organic products, or has an allergy to a particular chemical.I hope this explains the cause, but as for the solution, we hope that the referral to Q & L pest for your ongoing lawn and ornamental services resolved the problem. Please keep in mind that with Gardenia being pest-prone and your current maintenance company being hired within a communal contract that does a sometimes sub-par job at ipm, we recommend continuing with a service with one local CPO or another. We have other referrals available for reputable companies if you want to bid them out to make sure you are getting the best price. That being said, we would love to know if there is anything we can do to turn your four into a five star! Assuming you already treated the pests on the property, we would be glad to offer you 20 annuals for a small flower arrangement in the front when you return to town?I am scheduled to stop by the property this Saturday as per our discussion since you are out of town for some time and had concerns about your YTT plant.
