Highly recommend Erin Frederick at Darr Schackow. She was not only knowledgeable and professional, but I truly felt she was on my side, while we worked through a difficult issue. If you are looking for insurance I would look here first.

I really liked Darr Schackow when we first purchased insurance through them in 2018. We worked with Christy M. and she helped us find great home, auto, and umbrella plans. Somewhere along the line, Christy stopped being our agent. We received an email that someone else would be handling our account. The next time we called Darr, we found out our agent wasn't Christy or even the other person, but someone different. Actually, it seemed like we didn't have an assigned agent at all. That's not great, because I thought the whole point of using an agent like Darr to purchase insurance was that they periodically reviewed our coverage to let us know if a better plan was available. Guess not. As it turns out, the only thing Darr is really good at is making it impossible to cancel my insurance policy. We sold our home over a month ago and have made multiple calls to Darr to try to cancel our homeowners policy. Because of their limited hours, we can only call them during the day. My husband and I have left multiple voicemails. The receptionist tells us the only person we can talk to is currently on lunch or is in the office but not picking up the phone. Occasionally, they call me back even though I've asked that they call my husband since I am in meetings most days. They've never called my husband and, the very few times they've called me, I haven't been available and my return call goes to voicemail. I even tried to cancel directly through the insurance company, but they say any change to the policy must be made through the agent. I'll admit, Darr saved me a few hours when I was initially shopping around for insurance, but any time I saved upfront has been lost trying to cancel my policy. Learn from me and just take the time to call around for a good policy instead of using Darr. That way you get 24/7 access to an agent and a policy you can actually cancel when it's no longer needed.
