My sisters and I surprised my mom with a chartered sailboat ride with Captain Chuck. We had such a lovely and relaxing time and would totally do this again. Captain Chuck was very responsive, accommodating, and made great conversation. Would highly recommend.

My neighbor and his wife chartered Charade for a half day and invited my wife and I to join them as their guest. The website makes the boat look much better than it does in person. The boat arrived at the 14th Street Causeway dock about 20 minutes late. After boarding, the captain advised us that he was experiencing some potential engine overheating. That's really what you want to hear from the onset of a cruise! The boat was old and the open cabin wreaked of insecticide to the point that nobody in our party ever ventured inside. Once underway, we motored out of the Hillsboro inlet a short way and did slow circles north and south of the inlet approximately 1/4 mile each way for about two hours. The seas were probably 2-4 with an easterly wind of 5-10 knots on a partly cloudy day (nice sailing weather had we actually sailed). Our original understanding was we were going to sail north to the Boca inlet and motor back down the intercoastal. Due to concerns about the engine, the captain never flew the mainsail only the spinnaker that basically let us bob around like a cork at 1-2 knots speed until most of our party got sea sick. Finally the charter guest had had enough of the bobbing and asked to return to port early. The captain asked for the balance of payment in cash as he didn't really like credit card payments (I would have refused to pay if I had chartered the boat). Bobbing around the Hillsboro inlet in a big circle instead of lowering the Mainsail and going sailing is not what any of us considered a good time. A very poor excuse for a charter. The captain should have scrubbed the trip as soon as he lost confidence in the engine to deliver the sailing experience and the route that he contracted to provide. Never again on that tub!! Caveat Emptor......

Our sail today 7/15/21 with Captain Chuck was fabulous, inclusive of a 12 year old granddaughter, my two children, my husband and myself. Captain Chuck was so much fun he made a point of including everyone in the navigation of the boat at some point. The water was beautiful and his knowledge of the various areas was so informative. Will definitely go with him again and see where he takes us next time. Bye Captain Chuck hope to see you soon. L.
