I went to the Designer Dental office in Lake Placid, Florida. I only switched from my amazing dentist Dr. Schroeder because of an insurance change. Upon arriving, the sweet girl at the desk was very kind. This review is only in regards to the Dr. Not only did I have to wait for my appointment to start, the Dr didn't even greet me when he sat down. I had to be the personable one. He was rude and condescending towards me the entire time. In conversation he proceeded to tell me hygienists make too much money, he told me "he didn't want to hear it" when I told him I was a teacher (most people thank me) apparently because his parents are teachers and complained to him about the system all the time, he gave me dental advice that contradicted a diagnosis that EVERY dentist I've ever been to has given me, and more, but you get the gist. If you are reading reviews as you look for a new dentist, I hope these specifics help you in the decision. Going there was a total waste of my time. I would rather sacrifice convenience and drive an hour to another dentist on my insurance list than to return there.

I got to my cleaning appointment on time. While I was waiting the dental hygienist came out and got on the phone ignoring me for 40 minutes with no explanation or offer to reschedule. I just walked out and dont plan to go back there. The dentist is OK, but is somewhat impersonal.

First time appointment. Doctor came into room, looked at xray and said to me "that tooth needs to come out". I was in the chair with my back to him. He never introduced himself or came to the side of the chair. He never even looked in my mouth. I told him that another dentist built the tooth up and his response was "well then maybe you should go back to them". I walked out. If I could rate this place a negative, I would.

I had a horrible experience. After a root canal & crown. I had pain. 5 months later was told it was in my head! Not a good answer. After a long agonizing holiday weekend I developed an abscess. Fired this dentist had to go to a specialist to have root canal done right! Oops he half way did one canal & didn't do the 3rd one at all. I DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!
